e-Safety Pilot in Wales – update

South West Grid for LearningSWGfL have sent out the following e-mail to those schools identified as being keen to take part in the pilot of the 360 safe Cymru self assessment tool, and the Digital Literacy/Citizenship resource.

Dear colleagues,
Hope you have had a good summer break!
Before the end of summer term you kindly agreed to take part in the pilot of two new e-Safety tools designed and developed to help schools in Wales to improve their e-Safety. These tools are developed by us, at the South West Grid for Learning, with the support of Welsh Government.
I am getting in touch to confirm that the pilot will go ahead as planned and here is the proposed timeline:
9 Sept – pilot starts.
On this date you will receive an email from us which will contain
Test link to 360 safe Cymru tool along with instructions and a link to an online questionnaire we ask you to complete
Test link to the Digital Literacy Resource for Wales with instructions and a link to an online questionnaire we ask you to complete
30 Sept – pilot ends.
We ask that you complete the questionnaire to one or both of the tools (whichever you prefer) and submit to us no later than 30 September, please. This will provide us with comments and feedback for both tools, which we can implement before their live launch in late October.
For those interested in the Digital Literacy Resource and piloting it longer term, we would be happy to receive periodic feedback from you as the academic year progresses on your experience of using the tool.
For those who have used the original UK- version of 360 degree safe – please email me separately so I can advise on how your information will be transferred to the Welsh tool.
For those who plan to test the Welsh medium version of the new 360 safe Cymru tool, although we will share the test link with you on 9 September, please be aware that the full Welsh functionality will be available from 15 September.
In order to provide you with an opportunity to ask any questions or obtain more information about the tools and the pilot, we will hold a
Q&A session online on 9 September between 3.30 – 4.30. You are welcome to join the session (you will receive details how to access in a separate invitation) during that hour to ask any questions you may have. If you can’t make that time and have any questions please don’t hesitate to also email me or call me on the numbers below at any time.
Finally, we hope to launch the tools officially in late October/ early November and will be holding launch events throughout Wales. We would love to involve any of you as pilot schools in these events, to share your experience with other schools. I will email again after the pilot ends to see if any of you may be willing to take part in these launch events.
Thank you again for taking part.
Kind regards, Louiza
