The Welsh Heritage Schools’ Initiative’s annual competition has been running for 25+ years and it gives schools in different categories of Foundation Phase, Primary, Special and Secondary an opportunity to present projects on themes of their choice which relate to Welsh and /or local history.
Between 60 and 70 schools compete annually for the generous prizes (from £1,000 and £100) donated by our sponsors.
The 2016 Awards Ceremony will be held in the National Waterfront Museum Swansea on July 8th and it would be great if there was a fair local representation present. All the schools have to do at this juncture is to register their projects by January 31st and the judges will visit the schools towards the end of April / beginning of May. This year there is a particular emphasis upon digital work, projects about women’s history and projects to do with travelling and Wales and the wider world e.g. the First World War or Patagonia.
