TeachMeet Swansea 2017

teachmeet_swanseaTeachmeet returns to Swansea on Thursday 30th March. The event will be held at Olchfa School (SA2 7AB) from 4.15pm and is free to attend.

You can sign up here, either as an audience member or (hopefully) as someone willing to share an idea!

Follow #TMSwan17 on Twitter for updates.

Teachmeets are informal ‘unconferences’, organised by teachers, for teachers.

There are events organised right around the country and beyond, and each takes a slightly different approach but the key ideas are:

  • The events are free
  • Speakers are teachers (or others from the wider educational community)
  • Talks are either 2 minutes or 7 minutes. When the time is up you have to stop!
  • Talks have to be based on practical ideas and experience. You can’t be selling something.
  • The whole thing takes place in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

HwbMeet comes to Swansea! Learn something new!

HwbMeetHwbMeets are informal gatherings for those curious about innovative ideas for teaching and learning. Anyone can quickly share great ideas they’ve used in their classrooms, ask questions or simply sign up to see what other people are doing. Education professionals from all sectors are welcome to take part.

The events run after school, usually from 4.30-6.00pm, and focus on listening to real learning stories from teachers. HwbMeets aren’t designed as opportunities to present a product or try to sell something, but are a chance for teachers from all types of establishments to hear ideas, share good practice, and make useful contacts.

Each HwbMeet aims to give educators examples of useful tools, resources, and ideas. Teachers can then take this information away and consider how they could use or implement this information in their own schools.
