Teachmeet returns to Swansea on Thursday 30th March. The event will be held at Olchfa School (SA2 7AB) from 4.15pm and is free to attend.
You can sign up here, either as an audience member or (hopefully) as someone willing to share an idea!

Teachmeets are informal ‘unconferences’, organised by teachers, for teachers.
There are events organised right around the country and beyond, and each takes a slightly different approach but the key ideas are:
- The events are free
- Speakers are teachers (or others from the wider educational community)
- Talks are either 2 minutes or 7 minutes. When the time is up you have to stop!
- Talks have to be based on practical ideas and experience. You can’t be selling something.
- The whole thing takes place in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
This is the first of a series of Teachmeets in the local area, it is an informal gathering of educators looking for innovative ideas for teaching and learning. The focus of this Teachmeet will be on the tools that are available via Office365 and every teachers (and pupils) HWB account in Wales, it will also showcase a few additional features which include Minecraft in education and how this can be used in the classroom to develop literacy and numeracy.
This Teachmeet will hopefully give educators examples of how it’s being used in school across the area and also give ideas of how you can embed it into your current practice. The session will set some challenges for you to take back to the classroom and the opportunity to win some Microsoft prizes and showcase in the next Teechmeet what you are doing.
